The role connects software engineering and infrastructure teams, focusing on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation, CI/CD, containerization, cloud adoption, and developer enablement while delivering scalable, secure, and reliable applications.

Responsibilities

• The role serves as the connection point between software engineering and infrastructure teams, supporting the ongoing modernization of a large-scale examination platform used in high-stakes clinical assessments
• This engineer will work directly with developers to shape deployment strategies, containerization approaches, cloud adoption efforts, and operational practices while helping deliver scalable, secure, and reliable applications

Skills

• Professional software engineering experience with application development
• Strong background with Node.js and JavaScript or similar application development technologies
• Experience working in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles
• Hands-on experience deploying applications into Kubernetes environments
• Experience working with cloud-native infrastructure and services
• Strong Linux and Unix administration experience
• Experience with shell scripting and automation
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with infrastructure automation or Infrastructure as Code practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively across development and infrastructure teams
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technology evaluation skills
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future
• Production experience with Node.js and JavaScript
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or another major cloud platform
• Experience with managed Kubernetes services such as AKS
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools
• Experience supporting containerized Linux applications
• Background working with microservices architectures
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or similar messaging platforms
• Experience migrating applications or infrastructure from on-premises environments to the cloud
• Experience with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
• Experience helping engineering teams adopt new technologies and development practices
