Job description

Summary

Muon Space is a space systems provider that designs, builds, and operates satellite constellations for climate, Earth-observation, national security, and defense missions. The Legal Intern will support regulatory compliance, commercial and government contracting, legal research, corporate projects, and export-compliance recordkeeping while working remotely with the Legal and Contracts team.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain regulatory compliance matrices that track license conditions, reporting obligations, and procedures
  • Support the broader Legal and Contracts team with research and administrative work on commercial agreements, government contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements
  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and market research and synthesize findings into clear written summaries and recommendations
  • Assist with additional legal, corporate and regulatory projects as they come up, including filings, process documentation, and export-compliance recordkeeping

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program (1Ls and 2Ls welcome)
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
  • Genuine interest in space, technology, or government contracting
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment
  • This position requires access to export controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. • 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. • 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency. The Company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in administrative law, telecommunications, national security, or government contracts
  • Technical background or prior exposure to aerospace, satellite systems, or defense
