Summary
Mustang Fuel Corp is focused on supporting upstream oil and gas operations, and they are seeking a Data Analyst to enhance operational performance through data analysis. This role involves collecting, validating, and visualizing large datasets, while collaborating with various teams to deliver insights and improve decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the Aries reserves and economics database
- Gather, validate, and reconcile data across engineering, accounting, and land systems
- Analyze production, LOE, revenue, and capital data to identify trends
- Build dashboards and reports (Power BI, Spotfire, Excel)
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and asset performance analysis
- Collaborate with engineering, accounting, land, and IT teams
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve workflows
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
- 2 – 5 years of data analysis experience, preferably in oil & gas or another asset-intensive industry
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query; VBA a plus)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire, or similar)
- Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and communication skills
- Experience supporting E&P engineering or operations teams
- Exposure to economic modeling, forecasting, or reserves processes
- Experience integrating data across accounting, production, and engineering systems
- Familiarity with upstream datasets (production, LOE, revenue, drilling, reserves)
