Summary
Mutual Group is a mission-driven independent financial services firm supporting financial professionals and investment accounts nationwide. The Trading Specialist supports daily trading operations by executing and monitoring trades, rebalancing portfolios across multiple asset classes, troubleshooting trade-related issues, and supporting advisors and trading process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Execute, manage, and monitor trades during market hours across multiple custodians and platforms
- Trade and rebalance portfolios across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, options, and UITs) in accordance with advisor models and instructions
- Use third-party trading systems to calculate rebalances, allocate assets, and execute trades
- Review trading reports to identify accounts requiring action and ensure portfolios remain aligned with assigned models
- Research and troubleshoot trade-related issues in coordination with custodians and internal teams
- Support onboarding of new advisors, accounts, and portfolio models, ensuring trading integration is seamless
- Assist with trading-related activities such as cash management, distributions, and tax-loss harvesting
- Contribute to the development and refinement of trading procedures and documentation
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience in trading, operations, or investment support
- Series 7 license
- Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire
- Strong working knowledge of investment products and operational processes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during market hours
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Three (3) or more years preferred
- Familiarity with the Orion Eclipse trading platform
- Experience with custodians such as Fidelity, Schwab, and NFS
- Understanding of advisory account structures, 401(k) and 529 rebalancing, and annuity platforms
