Job description
Summary
Natera is a global leader in cell-free DNA testing for oncology, women’s health, and organ health. The Software Engineering Intern will implement software requirements, manage and validate data, automate manual tasks, maintain and debug software, and support testing and user communication.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and implement software requirements
- Format, validate and upload data
- Perform database schema changes
- Automate existing manual tasks through use of script development
- Make changes to the software code to resolve defects and make it more reliable
- Perform debugging and root cause analysis for issues
- Communicate with the users to better understand their needs
- Develop unit tests
- Assist with other tasks, e.g., code review, testing, and test automation, as needed
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI (protected health information) privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training within first 30 days of hire
- Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements
- Employee must pass post-offer criminal background check
Skills
- BS Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline / high quality bootcamp class / equivalent work experience
- Good working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, e.g
- JavaScript, Python, Java, etc
- SQL
- MySQL administration
- Excellent verbal and written English communication
- Ability and willingness to acquire new skills - A MUST
- High sense of ownership and accountability
- Google Sheets: formulas and App Script - a plus
Qualifications
Must Haves
- BS Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline / high quality bootcamp class / equivalent work experience
- Good working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, e.g
- JavaScript, Python, Java, etc
- SQL
- MySQL administration
