Summary
NBCUniversal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. They are seeking a highly motivated intern to work with their NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 digital team, assisting in writing, editing, social media curation, and the overall production of daily content for their website and app.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to our station’s digital content and social media accounts
- Pitch local story ideas/angles
- Write assigned stories
- Assist with phone/in-person interviews
- Edit video for various online platforms
- Publish stories to website from news services in addition to writing original content
- Cut videos from newscasts and publish to website and other platforms
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through December 2026)
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
- Must be available to work 15 hours per week
- Must be willing to work in-person at our station in San Diego
- News writing and journalism coursework; AP style knowledge
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite
