Summary
Hennepin County is a public-sector organization serving residents and communities in Minnesota. The organization is seeking an IT Security Analyst I to monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents, analyze security data, mitigate risks, and support enterprise information security operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Information Security/Security Operations Team
- Serve in and support the Security Operations Center
- Analyze data from log correlation, threat intelligence, and SIEM tool(s) to identify, correlate, and mitigate risks to the Hennepin County cyber infrastructure
- Identify, investigate, and mitigate information security risks in coordination with other information security staff
- Participate in relevant information security projects
Skills
- One of the following:
- Four years or more of experience in information technology
- Completion of approved IT Hennepin County internship **and** two years or more of IT experience
- Completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses **and** two years or more of IT experience
- Associate's/vocational/technical degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position **and** two years or more of IT experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position
- Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota
- Cybersecurity certificate (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Network+, and/or other relevant certificates)
- Working in a local government organization
- Analyzing security events and responding to security incidents in a corporate environment
- Analyzing emails for potential cybersecurity threats
- Using Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools
- Working in cross-platform environments, networks, etc
- Analyze and resolve complex problems with computer operations or applications
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Learn and apply software and hardware troubleshooting techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
