Job description
Summary
NovumTech Partners is a fast-growing tech company seeking a hands-on DevOps engineer to enhance their application and underwriting data layers. The role involves building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance and security, and collaborating with leadership to meet daily operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure
- Scale our infrastructure
- Develop processes for optimizing performance and security
- Work directly with the our CTO and Director of Engineering to help diagnose, prevent and implement our daily needs with applications, databases and networking
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
- Recommend and implement emerging cloud technologies
- Maintain and expand on our current CI/CD
Skills
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and other deployment tools
- Experience with AWS services
- Experience with Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) reporting and monitoring
- Skilled in Replication, Backup and Recovery (including Point-in-Time)
- Approach tasks with both fault-tolerant and security focused mindsets
- The ability to learn on the fly, and pick things up quickly
- Demonstrated history of maintaining production platforms, and identifying opportunities to improve, scale, and provide resiliency in disaster recovery
- Experience monitoring for, and responding to critical incidents
- You love to keep up with the latest technologies, and are willing to present ideas to the team
- CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI etc
- Github knowledge (hooks etc.)
- Reporting tools like Papertrail, Newrelic etc
- Hands-on experience with sharding and partitioning databases and tables
