Summary
OCHIN is a nonprofit health care innovation organization and trusted partner to a national provider network. The Research Analyst supports research projects by extracting, manipulating, and validating health care data, creating analytic datasets, and summarizing findings in reports, tables, charts, and graphics. The role also provides technical and analytic support, documentation, data quality improvement, and collaboration with internal departments and affiliated research institutions.
Responsibilities
- Creating and managing research datasets in support of research projects and preparatory-to-research activities. Summarizing data into various formats including reports, tables, charts, and graphics
- Conducting data quality checks and improvements. Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to research data and processes
- Partnering with other OCHIN departments and affiliated research institutions, as appropriate
- Participating in operationalizing variables and translating research questions into appropriate functional and analytic designs
- Providing technical/consultative services in the context of research projects and networks
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- • Minimum 2 years working with health care data (electronic health records, claims data, etc.)
- • Minimum 2 years working with Large Data Sets
- • Experience working with complex relational databases; ability to read, write, and maintain SQL code; database query skills and experience cleaning large, messy datasets
- • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English
- • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely
- • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
- • High Speed Internet Service
- • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace
- • Travel required up to 20% nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements for OCHIN

- • Knowledge or experience with Epic EHR or Clarity database preferred
- • Knowledge of community health centers and safety net healthcare preferred
- • Health-related research experience preferred
