Summary
Okland Construction is a commercial general contractor and construction management company that values remarkable experiences and relationships. They are seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support reporting, data models, and pipelines, working with experienced BI developers and analytics engineers to drive better business decisions through data insights.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards for business stakeholders
- Assist with building and refining semantic models using DAX and Power Query
- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting
- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries for data exploration, transformation, and validation
- Use Python to support data transformations, quality checks, and exploratory analysis
- Learn and contribute to data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric
- Document data pipelines, semantic models, and business logic
- Collaborate with BI developers and business partners to understand reporting needs and translate them into analytical solutions
Skills
- Are currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
- Foundational SQL skills, including writing basic queries, joins, and filters
- Exposure to Python for data analysis or scripting (e.g., pandas)
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts or tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- A strong desire to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a collaborative environment
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1B Status, O -1, CPT, OT, etc.)
- Coursework or project experience in data modeling or database design is a plus
- Exposure to cloud analytics platforms or Microsoft Fabric is a plus
