Job description

Summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is a growing automotive parts retailer seeking a Staff Accountant I to support timely and accurate financial reporting. The role focuses on journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, budgeting support, SOX compliance, audit assistance, and financial service to operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and O'Reilly accounting policies
  • Resolve issues and make corrections as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain supporting control process documentation
  • Assist internal and external audit processes as necessary
  • Generate reporting and analysis as required by management
  • Monthly analysis of various balance sheet accounts
  • Monthly analytical review and reasonableness tests of various income and expense accounts
  • Analysis of budget to actual variances
  • Research and correct errors detected
  • Assist in annual budgeting process through development of estimates, tools, and reporting
  • Provide a high level of service to operational groups and departments through prompt and thorough responses to financial questions and requests for enhanced reporting
  • Collaborate with team members inside and outside of finance to improve processes and operations
  • Assist management with special projects as needed
  • Assist other members of the Finance department as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
