Summary
Oscar is a health insurance company built around a full-stack technology platform and focused on serving its members. The Care Coordinator serves as the central entry point for the Care Management department, coordinating member care, managing transportation and administrative tasks, handling inquiries, and supporting RN Care Managers in improving member health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Be the primary bridge and entry point for all members and providers working with the Care Management team
- Field inbound phone calls from members and providers, using optimized IVR pathways to ensure accurate routing and striving for one-call resolution
- Manage care coordination for members across various programs, including CCM, TOC, and unassigned populations, across a variety of settings (hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care, supply vendors, dialysis) while maintaining strict confidentiality and the highest level of professionalism
- Manage non-emergent medical transportation (NEMT) via UberHealth for members, strictly following program guardrails to decrease readmissions and improve health outcomes
- Handle internal escalations to specialized departments such as Claims, Eligibility, and Care Navigation
- Lead special projects as subject matter experts
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to create a positive member experience
- Perform all other tasks or additional responsibilities
Skills
- This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Arizona; Florida; Georgia and Texas
- 1+ years of experience with care coordination and navigation in a healthcare setting
- Proficient computer literacy skills, with a strong aptitude for using EMRs (like Medecision) and telephony systems (like InContact) for seamless workflows
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including exceptional listening skills
- Certified as a Medical Assistant
- Bilingual
- Familiar with Health Insurance
