Job description

Summary

PerfectServe provides clinical communication and physician scheduling solutions in the health IT space. The Junior QA Engineer will develop and maintain automated tests, participate in manual and automated testing activities, and build technical expertise in testing frameworks, scripting, CI/CD, and quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts under the guidance of more senior automation team members
  • Participate in the creation and execution of test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on business requirements
  • Demonstrate flexibility in shifting between manual validation and automation work depending on delivery timelines, feature complexity, and team needs
  • Continuously build technical testing knowledge, including exposure to automation frameworks, scripting, CI/CD, and quality engineering best practices
  • Communicate effectively in a remote environment, including maintaining an active on-camera presence during meetings when expected

Skills

  • Some prior technical experience in software testing, automation, scripting, development, or a related technical area **OR** a bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or another programming/technology-related field from an accredited higher education institution
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and/or Agile delivery practices
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts and an interest in building skills in automation tools and frameworks
  • Exposure to one or more programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • This position requires interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting
  • In order to best service our customers on the phone, face-to-face, or on the computer, all employees must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information
  • Health IT experience (a plus)
