Summary
Republic Airways offers an internship program designed to prepare students for the workforce through mentorship, professional development, and departmental project opportunities. The Accounting Intern will support FP&A and Finance and Accounting activities by analyzing results, assisting with budgeting, presenting project outcomes, and implementing cost-saving business processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes and forecasts monthly results amongst spend categories
- Supplements the FP&A team in the budgeting process
- Collaborates with the different teams amongst the Finance and Accounting department
- Attends weekly FP&A meetings as well as other monthly departmental meetings
- Presents project results to their team members periodically
- Implements business processes to support cost saving initiatives
Skills
- * Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Finance or Accounting
- * Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- * Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business group
- * Strong analytical skills
- * Proficient communication and presentation skills
- * Flexible and willing to help other team members as projects arise
- * This is currently a remote opportunity. Remote status will continuously be evaluated, so the ability to work on-site in Indianapolis is required
- * Ability to work up to 40 hours per week
- * Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
