Summary
Republic Airways is an airline operating scheduled passenger service across the United States and neighboring regions. The Industrial Engineering Intern will support business process harmonization, customer service improvements, efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness through data-driven analysis, project planning, stakeholder collaboration, and actionable business insights.
Responsibilities
- Support Republic’s business plan to harmonize business processes, improve customer service, efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness
- Understand our business and value stream
- Apply analytical rigor and a data driven approach to assess current state and develop alternatives
- Develop practical business insights
- Design analytic plan/develop hypotheses to test
- Interprets results and set next steps
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees and stakeholders
- Propose ways to synthesize multiple and possibly divergent viewpoints into an action plan
- Take initiative to share relevant project information with internal leadership and clients
- Execute to plan and update project lead and stakeholders on a regular basis
Skills
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management or similar field of study
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business group
- Strong analytical skill
- This is currently a remote opportunity. Remote status will continuously be evaluated, so the ability to work on-site in Indianapolis is required
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Able to read and interpret technical, regulatory and contractual documentation
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work independently or as part of a team to drive results
- Able to move about the work environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear
Qualifications
Must Haves
