Summary
Sandhills Global is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze data collected from their products and services. The role involves developing statistical and machine learning models, visualizing insights for business actions, and collaborating with software developers to implement findings into products.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing data that is collected in our current and future products and services
- Develop statistical and machine learning models using state of the art Machine Learning and AI technologies
- Visualize insights for business actions and collaborate with Software Developers to implement into our products and services
- Apply the data analysis, models, and software to the markets our products are in for us to better serve our customers
- Assume other duties as assigned
Skills
- Completed Post Secondary Degree in Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics preferred or any other quantitative discipline
- Strong proficiencies in Python or R, and various libraries/packages
- Ability to gain knowledge of the products and customers of the Auction and Heavy Equipment industries
- Technical understanding regarding data models, database design and development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- General understanding of Machine Learning and AI tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and communicate within a team environment

- Ability to travel by air and ground -- valid driver's license required

- Adept at generating reports and presenting findings in an understandable manner
