Job description

Summary

Science and Technology Corporation (STC) provides scientific, engineering, and technical services to U.S. Government and industry partners. The Jr Spectrum Engineer will be responsible for tracking and reporting RF spectrum regulatory actions and assisting in the establishment of technical rules and procedures for spectrum sharing with federal agencies.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for tracking, assessing, and reporting any RF spectrum regulatory actions related to Federal agencies (NOAA, DoD, DoC, NASA)
  • Participate and establish technical rules and procedures for spectrum sharing & spectrum coordination with federal agencies and international administrations
  • Assist regulatory and policy team in evaluating and conducting analysis on new rulemaking procedures and submissions
  • Conduct Matlab analysis
  • Establish technical parameters and standards governing the use of each frequency band or specific service, if applicable
  • Knowledge of FCC rules, procedures, and rule-making processes

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex engineering analysis
  • Ability to use RF engineering tools
  • Possess excellent written & communications skills in English
  • Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Data & Visualization: Python (pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib), SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI
  • Languages: Python, R, C++, Java, MATLAB, JavaScript/HTML/CSS
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 1-2 years of direct engineering experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in satellite & cellular telecommunications' industry
  • 1+ years of experience in RF spectrum management engineering
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Knowledge of FCC rules, procedures, and rule-making processes
