Job description

Summary

Select Power Systems provides engineering and design services to electric utilities across the U.S. They are seeking a skilled Distribution Designer to join their team, who will be responsible for designing overhead and underground distribution systems while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed design packages for overhead and underground electric distribution projects
  • Apply utility standards, construction practices, and design guidelines to all projects
  • Conduct field visits, collect data, and incorporate findings into design deliverables
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure accurate and timely completion of designs
  • Utilize design software and GIS tools to develop drawings, maps, and construction documents
  • Ensure all deliverables meet client and company quality standards

Skills

  • 2+ years of electric distribution design experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or similar design tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training in engineering, drafting, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with PSE design standards and systems strongly preferred
