Job description

Summary

Seneca Resources is a staffing and consulting firm that connects professionals with meaningful opportunities at leading organizations and government clients. The Cloud/AI Developer will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable Java-based cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform, including services for image capture, processing, storage, and distribution. The role also supports AI integration, security, troubleshooting, architecture reviews, and DevOps initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Developing RESTful APIs
  • Building image processing pipelines
  • Integrating AI functionalities
  • Implementing security best practices
  • Supporting DevOps initiatives through CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Participate in architecture reviews
  • Contribute to best practices for cloud-native applications

Skills

  • Proven experience developing backend services and APIs in Java
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on GCP, utilizing serverless and container-based approaches
  • Experience working with image workflows, AI integration (such as computer vision, OCR), and metadata management
  • Strong knowledge of secure engineering practices, including IAM, encryption, and audit logging
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Excellent troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills across cross-functional teams
  • Spring/Spring Boot preferred
