Job description

Summary

SGS is the world's leading Testing, Inspection and Certification company, and they are seeking a Summer Calibration Services Technician for a paid internship opportunity. The role involves performing in-field installation, calibration, and maintenance of continuous monitoring units at client sites, while ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Field calibration of real-time indoor air quality sensors
  • Reading, understanding, and traveling with system installation, calibration, and troubleshooting equipment and manuals
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting systems onsite. This includes use of small hand tools to perform sensor repairs and documenting field activities properly before leaving the site and uploading into central system from phone or computer daily
  • Communicating unresolved issues encountered in a timely manner

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in a science or technology field
  • Associate's degree or equivalent educational hours in a science or technology field of study
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient English language skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Travels up to 80% of the time locally (within 3 hours)
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a constant basis
  • Bachelor's degree in a science or technology field of study
  • Experience in an environmental or industrial hygiene laboratory

Qualifications
