Summary

Tailored Brands is a leading specialty retailer of menswear, and they are seeking a Data Analyst II – Merchandising Analytics to join their Enterprise Analytics team. The role involves analyzing sales and customer data to uncover trends, creating insightful reports, and collaborating with various teams to optimize merchandising strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis: Dive deep into sales, inventory, and customer data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
  • Reporting: Create clear, concise, and insightful reports and dashboards for stakeholders
  • Inventory Management: Provide insights to help develop and execute seasonal and annual merchandise buying plans
  • Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with planning and visual merchandising teams to optimize product placement and availability
  • Pricing Insights: Analyze pricing strategies and elasticities to provide recommendations for adjustments
  • Promotional Effectiveness: Evaluate the impact of promotions on sales and customer behavior
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to identify new opportunities for increasing sales
  • Forecasting: Use statistical models to create forward-looking prediction models
  • Presentations: Present analyses in a clear, interpretable, and applicable way that can be shared widely, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical partners

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, business, merchandising, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years career experience in a similar role
  • SQL: Proficiency in querying databases for data extraction is required
  • Data Visualization: Experience visualizing insights in enterprise Business Intelligence tools effectively is required, preferably in Power BI
  • AI Tools: Ability to use tools (such as CoPilot and Glean) to amplify, but not replace thinking, in work is required
  • Python/R: Proficiency in scripting data manipulation and modeling for analysis is preferred
