Summary
TE Connectivity is a global industrial technology company creating connectivity and sensor solutions for safer, sustainable, productive, and connected applications. The Applied AI Data Engineering Intern will develop a real AI pilot for a Channel Business Unit use case by working with business data, building solutions in Databricks or other AI tools, testing outcomes with users, and handing off a usable pilot.
Responsibilities
- Take one prioritized Channel use case from problem statement to working pilot over the course of your internship
- Build the pilot in Databricks or another TE AI tool, such as Copilot Studio, ChatGPT or Claude
- Get the data your pilot needs, using SQL and Python to pull it and clean it up
- Test the pilot with the people who would use it, measure whether it saves time or improves accuracy, and improve it based on their feedback
- Hand off a working pilot at the end of the summer with a live demo, a short how-to, and your recommendation on whether TE should scale it
Skills
- Have earned a high school diploma or GED
- Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS Degree in Computer Science , Data Science or Data Analytics from an accredited college or university—or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered)
- Have coursework or project experience with Python and SQL
- Have played around with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot and are curious where they help and where they fall short
- Enjoy messy problems and can explain your work in plain language
- Are authorized to work in the U.S
- Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project
