Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) is the largest provider of free civil legal services in Texas and one of the largest in the nation. Our attorneys fight for low-income families and communities across 68 counties in Texas and six southern states. We practice in more than 40 areas of law – everything from protecting survivors of domestic violence, to defending tenants from eviction, to enforcing farmworker rights, to challenging systemic barriers in education, employment, and public benefits. With almost 200 attorneys in offices from El Paso to the Rio Grande Valley, TRLA is nationally recognized for tough, creative advocacy on behalf of communities that face uphill battles in Texas’s unique legal and political climate.
