Job description

Summary

The Ford Agency is partnering with an international law firm to hire a Client Contracts Advisor. The role will verify contracts for consistency, protect the firm’s interests, mitigate risk, review outside counsel guidelines, and collaborate with managers and attorneys to implement non-standard agreement terms.

Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date on the firm's business policies and practices and ensure the firm is maintaining its ethics and meeting insurance requirements relating to agreements
  • Review, research, and respond to outside counsel guidelines, identifying potential concerns and reasons for objections
  • Discuss potential issues, and proposed approaches with senior attorneys to find effective solutions
  • Manage database of outside counsel guidelines
  • Conduct thorough research using firm databases, internal subject matter experts, and other resources
  • Review current processes and make recommendations to improve upon best practices

Skills

  • 2+ years of law firm experience required
  • Knowledge and detailed understanding of engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines
  • Ability to review and analyze large volumes of information into effective solutions
  • Ability to summarize business and legal concepts clearly and concisely in writing
  • Professional communication skills
  • Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation
  • JD preferred
