Job description

Summary

United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Network Engineer to join their IT team. This entry-level role involves supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems while working closely with senior engineers to ensure network stability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points and UPS battery systems)
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Provide first-level technical support for network-related incidents and service requests
  • Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and patching
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Support network security initiatives, including access control and vulnerability monitoring
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business operations
  • Participate in On-Call rotations or after-hours support as needed
  • Participate in IT projects, and other infrastructure improvement efforts
  • Maintain an organized and secure IT environment in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned, including occasional domestic and international travel

Skills

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or relevant work experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in an IT support or infrastructure-related role
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANS, routing, switching, and cabling)
  • Hands-on experience supporting or maintaining UPS battery backup systems
  • Familiarity with WhatsUpGold or similar infrastructure monitoring platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to follow standard procedures and accurately document technical work
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Familiarity with networking hardware and operating systems
  • Exposure to ITIL practices and documentation standards
  • Knowledge and/or experience with USOPC structure, Olympic and Paralympic Movement, or high-performance sport
  • Ability to handle confidential information and communicate only to intended audience, especially pertaining to medical records
  • Proficient computer skills in database management and analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, athletes, coaches, administrative staff, physicians, volunteers, and other medical personnel
  • Ability to deal with non-routine matters and special projects with minimum and/or specific instructions
  • Passion for Team USA and the ideals of the Olympic & Paralympic movement
  • Visio experience preferred but not required
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA/ACSP (preferred)
