POSITION TITLE: Production Statistician

U.S. Engineering Company is hiring a Production Statistician for its Manufacturing Facility in Johnstown, CO. The position is a one-year internship. The selected candidate will work 20 hours per week. The position is non-exempt, hourly paid.

The Production Statistician:
- Is responsible for gathering production numbers throughout the entire production cycle in order to identify trends, provide forecast, develop KPIs, with the intent to ensure sustainability, increased efficiency, productivity, safety and profitability for the manufacturing and construction teams.
- Will partner closely with the manufacturing teams, regional operations leadership team, project managers and logistics.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- In partnership with manufacturing and project operational leaders, gathers and evaluates production statistics of manufacturing/construction processes and identifies ways to optimize the flow of work packages from source to facility.
- Acquires quantitative production data and generates method statements.
- Designs data acquisition trials.
- Effectively applies statistical methodology to complex data.
- Effective at conveying complex information to team members who may not be specialists.
- Assists in developing key performance indicators (KPI) based on the statistical data collected.
- Embraces a team culture, and collaborates with internal and external operations teams to continually enhance outcomes.
- Assist with social media content, website content, intranet content, advertising design, and other company marketing communications.
- Assist in gathering marketing research information which includes: competitor data, upcoming projects, industry trends, etc.
- Participate in certain industry associations; network through attendance at meetings or social marketing events, etc.
Job Scope:

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering related field, OR
Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering related field
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good IT skills
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent skill in MS Office suite of products – Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely – verbal and written.
- Business acumen, combined with analytical thinking, resulting in the ability to successfully strengthen the company’s opportunities, profitability, volume, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes and methods.
- Keen attention to detail and proven ability to consistently follow through.
- Ability to proactively analyze information or results, which are occasionally ambiguous, and resolve problems – at times using creative methods.

Preferred Experience:
- Three to five years’ professional experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing and/or industry relevant environments a plus
- Experience in mechanical or large general construction industry is a plus.
Physical and/or travel demands:
- Work will be done in a combination of environments; includes an office setting, job sites, manufacturing floor, external meetings, etc.
- Regular local driving to job sites is required - occasional travel to other regional offices and customer locations (involving overnight stays) will be required
- This position requires frequent sitting, use of keyboard/monitor, and telephone. Some standing required, with very infrequent reaching, stooping, and pulling/lifting required.
