Job description

Summary

Vera Bradley is a company that designs and sells a variety of products. They are seeking an Associate System Administrator to administer and support infrastructure systems in an enterprise environment, ensuring optimal configuration and continuous value delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with support of infrastructure systems including networking, servers, hardware and software both on premise and cloud
  • Proactively maintain infrastructure systems to ensure maximum uptime
  • Actively monitor systems for performance bottlenecks and resolve issues
  • Monitor, scan, and test systems for security vulnerabilities and resolve issues
  • Support the administration of user directory and policies
  • Assist with infrastructure support of products managed by VRA Product Teams
  • Support all client applications
  • Research, test, and install software updates
  • Create and maintain documentation for implemented solutions
  • Configure systems to adhere to SOX, PCI, and other applicable compliance initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and implement solutions that drive value for the organization
  • On-call as needed to provide technical support to off-shifts

Skills

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of server administration experience and supporting enterprise applications
  • Current certifications in cloud computing, modern infrastructure, or similar desired
  • Experience administering or supporting Microsoft Exchange email environments
  • Experience administering or supporting Microsoft 365 services and workloads
  • Experience administering or supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments
  • Experience administering or supporting Physical server hardware, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience administering or supporting Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Active Directory user and group administration
  • Group Policy configuration and management
  • Print server administration and print queue management
  • Experience working within a helpdesk or ticketing system environment
  • Fundamental understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Server platform administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a customer‑focused support approach
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills with consistent follow‑through
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, handling situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
