Summary
Vermillio builds AI guardrails and protection and licensing technology for creators and intellectual property owners. The Content Protection Manager will own content protection operations, manage takedowns and rights-based publishing decisions, and serve as a legal rights contact while supporting intellectual property enforcement in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage takedowns lifecycle end to end; answering clients who have questions about takedowns and rights
- Review infraction results and determine what to publish based on the clients’ rights
- Draft correspondence and other written materials, including editing and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and administer Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notices and cease and desist letters
- Collaborate with trade organizations, vendors, and internal teams to address unauthorized use of likeness, copyrights and trademarks
- Support in-house attorneys and the Customer Success Team in safeguarding intellectual property rights, including administering DMCA notices and responding to rights violations
Skills
- * Bachelor's degree in related field
- * 1-2 years of direct or equivalent experience working in content protection, intellectual property or patent related fields
- * Proficiency in legal writing and legal research
- * Working knowledge of US copyright and trademark law, and of DMCA notice-and-takedown practice
- * Familiarity with social media outlets and user generated content platforms
- * Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident interfacing with high-profile clients and internal leadership
- * Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally, internally and externally
- * Proven ability to manage timelines, track follow-ups, and drive work to completion independently
- * Sound judgment handling sensitive and confidential client information with discretion
- * JD from an accredited law school
- * Familiarity with right of publicity / NIL and deepfake or likeness-misuse enforcement
- * Experience with anti-piracy vendors, platform trust & safety teams, or high-volume notice submission tools
- * Background in music, film/TV, publishing, or talent representation
