Summary
Adams Clinical is a clinical trial site network focused on accelerating the development of life-changing medicines through high-quality clinical research. The Staff Accountant will support the monthly close process, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, audit readiness, accounts payable, and day-to-day accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries within established deadlines
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation, ensuring the sub-ledger ties to the general ledger
- Manage accounts payable functions including coding, approvals, and vendor payment run
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
- Identify and help implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
- Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field) required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close procedures, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Prior experience with fixed asset accounting and accounts payable preferred
- Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
