Summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the EC2 Nitro local storage team. The role focuses on building virtualized, hardware-accelerated solutions for EC2 disk instances at global scale, optimizing performance across hardware, firmware, and software, and supporting demanding cloud and AI/ML workloads.
Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and embedded concepts and expertise in C, C++, Java, Rust or similar development in a Linux environment. Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and software unit testing is required

- Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and software unit testing is required
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 4+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 5+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 5+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
