Job description

Summary

AmeriHealth Caritas is a mission-driven health care organization providing managed care and related health care solutions. The Actuarial Analyst will support the Medical Economics team by analyzing medical costs and trends, developing actuarial models and databases, validating data, and preparing internal, external, and regulatory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate, monitor, and assess impact of benefit and provider reimbursement changes, cost containment programs, and medical cost and trends
  • Assists in developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases for purposes of trend and data analytics
  • Performs monthly data analysis projects to assist analysts
  • Assists in validating HVOs
  • Assists in maintaining and developing medical economic databases and applications
  • Assists in developing and refreshing actuarial medical economic models
  • Populates quarterly reporting templates for LOBs
  • Prepares internal and external communications, including that with regulatory authorities and internal management
  • Uses best practice models and other industry recognized pricing tools

Skills

  • This is a 100% Remote position but you must live in EST or CST time zones
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science or related field required
  • One to three (1 – 3) actuarial exams
  • Knowledge of Excel, SQL, spreadsheets, data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and database applications used for analysis
  • Strong project management skills
  • Internship experience a plus

  • This is a 100% Remote position but you must live in EST or CST time zones
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science or related field required
  • One to three (1 – 3) actuarial exams
  • Knowledge of Excel, SQL, spreadsheets, data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and database applications used for analysis
  • Strong project management skills
