Summary
Axillon Aerospace is an aerospace manufacturing company seeking a Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis. The role focuses on forecasting, budgeting, manufacturing cost analysis, program performance, financial reporting, and process improvement while partnering with cross-functional operational teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and budgets
- Support long-range strategic planning and financial modeling initiatives
- Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
- Develop variance analyses and provide actionable recommendations to management
- Assist in preparing executive-level financial presentations and reports
- Analyze manufacturing costs, material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and inventory performance
- Monitor standard costs and support annual cost roll processes
- Evaluate production performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Partner with operations teams to understand key manufacturing drivers
- Partner with business development to standardize bid and proposal process across all sites
- Support program managers with financial reporting and forecasts
- Analyze revenue, margins, and project costs
- Assist with contract pricing, bid support, and proposal analysis
- Generate and maintain recurring financial reports and dashboards
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, and production leadership
- Recommend process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency
- Develop and improve financial models, reporting tools, and KPI tracking systems
- Support ERP system enhancements and data integrity initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–5 years of financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or manufacturing finance experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, IMB Analytics, Syteline, or similar
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing KPIs
- Familiarity with government contracts, FAR/DFARS regulations, or cost accounting standards (CAS)
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward a professional certification is a plus
