Summary
BAE Systems is a defense, aerospace, and security company supporting the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs and high-profile weapon systems. The Requirements Systems Engineer will manage system-level requirements in DOORS, derive and allocate requirements, perform impact and traceability assessments, coordinate with architecture and verification teams, and present requirements to leadership and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for managing system-level requirements modules in DOORS, to include activities such as, but not limited to: deriving child requirements from parent requirements and reference specifications, managing allocations of requirements to subsystems, performing impact and traceability assessments, engaging with system architecture and verification teams to ensure satisfaction and verification of requirements, and generating and presenting views of requirements to leadership and stakeholders for review and approval
- The selected candidate will also be responsible for leverage DOORS Extension Language (DXL) in support of requirement management activities
- The selected candidate will work closely with other BAE Systems, Inc. employees, other contractors, and our U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) customers
Skills
- * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field and 4 years of related/relevant work experience, or a Master's Degree and 2 years of related/relevant work experience
- * Experience with requirement management database tools DOORS, Jama, etc
- * Basic knowledge of requirements and their purpose in systems engineering
- * Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and systems engineering technical processes
- * Ability and willingness to travel to DC weekly
- * Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
- * Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- * Experience within the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and either the Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS) or SLCM-N
- * Associate or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP/CSEP) INCOSE certification
- * Experience using DOORS Extension Language (DXL)
- * Extensive Model-Based Systems Engineering
