Job description

Summary

Bechtel is a global engineering, construction, and project services company serving infrastructure, energy, mining, metals, manufacturing, and technology markets. The company is seeking a Control Systems Engineering intern to support measurement instrumentation and automated digital system process control through analysis, design, specifications, documentation, and startup support. The intern will work on multidisciplinary teams and contribute to electrical design calculations, drawings, and compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Control Systems Engineering interns work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide support to aspects of measurement instrumentation and automated digital system process control. This includes performing the analysis, design, specifications, and startup support for all aspects of measurement instrumentation and automated digital system process control
  • Assisting with the development of basic discipline system calculations and designs such as short circuit and load-flow single line and 3-line drawings, schematics, transformer and cable sizing, and specifications for equipment where deviations from standard documentation is required
  • Producing basic and higher-tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope
  • Properly interpreting and applying codes and standards and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to design tasks

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
