Summary
Bechtel provides engineering and project services across infrastructure, energy, environmental, and other global markets. The Environmental Engineering Intern will support multidisciplinary teams working on water and wastewater systems, air emissions, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory requirements. The role includes technical assignments such as writing specifications, equipment sizing, air dispersion modeling, and permitting support.
Responsibilities
- This position will allow you to perform assignments that will develop professional working knowledge and abilities through the application of applicable codes and standards, as well as engineering calculations and techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will exercise limited, but increasing, judgment in performing your assigned duties using methods prescribed by your supervisor
- Writing specifications
- Developing processing schemes
- Performing equipment sizing calculations
- Performing analysis and conceptual study-level reports
- Estimating air emissions
- Performing air dispersion modeling
- Assisting with Environmental Impact Assessments and client permitting applications
Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Chemical or Environmental Engineering at an accredited college or university
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project job sites
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. with visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Chemical or Environmental Engineering at an accredited college or university
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
