Job description

Summary

Bechtel offers a U.S. summer internship program providing students with hands-on experience alongside industry professionals. The Process Engineering Intern supports multidisciplinary teams in designing large-scale chemical manufacturing facilities and related processes, including process diagrams, material balances, datasheets, and relief systems.

Responsibilities

  • Determining the sequence of operations and the selection of equipment and operating conditions required to convert a feedstock into products
  • Generating Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Process Datasheets
  • Designing the Relief System
  • Supporting disciplines to ensure that process design intent is maintained throughout the work of the downstream design disciplines

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
