Summary
Bechtel is an engineering, construction, and infrastructure company serving complex projects across multiple markets. The University Hire Environmental Engineer will conduct environmental engineering studies, prepare impact reports, evaluate regulations, compile and analyze data, and maintain technical records. The role also supports environmental impact assessments, permitting, emissions estimation, and air dispersion modeling.
Responsibilities
- Writing specifications
- Developing processing schemes
- Performing equipment sizing calculations
- Performing analysis and conceptual study-level reports
- Estimating air emissions
- Performing air dispersion modeling
- Assisting with Environmental Impact Assessments and client permitting applications
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university within twelve (12) months of graduation date or anticipate obtaining in the next 12 months
- Eligible for the University Hire Program (typically hired within 12 months of graduation)
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship
- Master of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university within twelve (12) months of graduation date or anticipate obtaining in the next 12 months
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Prior co-op or internship experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
