Job description

Summary

Belmont University is seeking Social Innovation Fellows for a research-focused internship with its Office of Strategy and Innovation. The role conducts ecosystem research across Health and Healthcare, Culture and Entertainment, and Regional Thriving, while supporting strategy initiatives, communications, reporting, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Ecosystem Research (Primary Responsibility) Conduct in-depth research on behalf of the university’s ecosystems: Health and Healthcare, Culture and Entertainment, and Regional Thriving. Perform literature reviews, landscape analyses, benchmarking, and stakeholder interviews within one or more ecosystem areas. Synthesize findings into actionable insights and contribute to internal reports, briefs, and presentations for OSI leadership
  • 2. OSI Support Assist with preparation for OSI meetings and initiatives connected to ecosystem strategy, including agenda development and background materials. Participate in brainstorming sessions and workshops designed to generate innovative ideas within ecosystem areas
  • 3. Communication and Reporting Prepare research summaries, briefings, and updates for internal and external audiences. Contribute to written content that translates research findings into clear, executive-ready material
  • 4. Professional Development Interface regularly with OSI team members and university leaders to gain mentorship and exposure to strategic and social innovation work. Gain experience using platforms such as ClickUp, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite as part of research documentation and communication

  • Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University
  • Currently a Social Innovation Fellow at Belmont University
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter, able to manage research projects independently and collaboratively
  • Genuine interest in at least one of OSI's ecosystem areas: Health and Healthcare, Culture and Entertainment, or Regional Thriving
  • Prior coursework, project work, or lived experience related to one of the three ecosystem areas
  • Familiarity with research methods such as literature review, benchmarking, or stake

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
