populations in Eastern Buncombe and Western McDowell Counties.

Role Description: Bounty & Soul is seeking a Social Media + Communications intern to continue

establishing a solid presence, both online and in the community. Responsibilities would include

taking photos and video at weekly market distributions, updating and maintaining all social media

sites (Facebook and Instagram), and creating content for newsletters. This intern would also be

responsible for gathering client testimonials and organizing online photo storage. Lastly, this

individual may assist the Director of Community Engagement by representing the organization at

community tabling events and assisting with reaching out to local businesses for small fundraising

efforts. The right student can put a thumbprint on this organization for many years to come.

Schedule: Flexible

Hours: A minimum of 90 hours, but preferably 120+ hours

Direct Report: Executive Director with access to external web development resources

Responsibilities

• Responsible for updating and managing all social media accounts - Facebook, Instagram,

YouTube

• Develop videos for online marketing, education and fundraising
• Gather client testimonials, written and verbal, to share stories on social media and in

newsletters

• Assist in developing and executing marketing plan to build awareness, community support,

visibility, fundraising and excitement

• Capture photos and video at weekly markets, behind the scenes at Volunteer Hub and

potentially at garden + farm sites as appropriate

• Research and attend local events representing Bounty & Soul as requested
• Assist with community publicity and collaboration with partners
• Willingness to contribute to the needs of the organization as may arise

REQUIREMENTS:

• Flexibility and willingness to work effectively and efficiently
• Independent worker, but takes direction well
• Passion for nonprofits and the mission of Bounty & Soul
• Current student studying New Media, Communications, Writing, Marketing, Public Relations

or related field

• Basic/Working knowledge of photography, videography, and social media sites
• Strong writing and public speaking skills
• Attention to detail and an eye for good photo and ‘marketable’ opportunities
