Summary
Blank Rome LLP is an Am Law 100 law firm providing legal and advocacy services. The Compensation Analyst will model, analyze, administer, and implement compensation programs, conduct market and financial analyses, support salary and bonus processes, and assist with performance management and broader HR data initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work with Chief Legal Talent Officer and firm leaders to analyze and model associate and counsel compensation, including ongoing monitoring of associate compensation across various market locations, using Excel to analyze various approaches, and continually considering new ideas and methodologies to further attract, reward and retain attorneys across the firm’s offices
- Plan, develop and implement the salary adjustment and bonus processes for associates and counsel, including design of the timeline; manipulation and analysis of compensation and hours data from various firm systems; consideration of individual situations and application of compensation design to ensure appropriateness and parity; preparation of compensation notifications to individual attorneys; preparation of data for upload into firm systems; and coordination with Payroll to ensure proper payment
- Plan, develop and implement the salary adjustment and bonus processes for all firm administrative professionals, including design of the timeline; analysis of historical and current compensation data; creation and distribution of compensation spreadsheets to offices and departments; consideration of proposed compensation adjustments in light of benchmark data; preparation of compensation notifications to individual employees; preparation of data for upload into firm systems; and coordination with Payroll to ensure proper payment
- Research and prepare compensation and market analyses to administer compensation programs, including compiling and analyzing data and completing various national and local salary surveys, interpreting market salary data and trends as reported in released surveys, and staying abreast of market trends, developments and changes
- Create and run periodic and ad hoc reports from internal systems, including HR and Finance systems, to assist in periodically analyzing compensation data
- Prepare annual compensation budgets and forecasts and coordinate closely with Finance on an ongoing basis
- Calculate formulaic and hourly pay for attorneys and business professionals with individualized arrangements
- Advise and provide salary recommendations in conjunction with the setting of compensation for new associates and administrative professionals, and in the event of significant market changes
- Evaluate position descriptions to determine appropriate pay grade and salary ranges
- Support performance management processes, using viDesktop and Excel
- Prepare clear and effective communications and presentations regarding internal and external compensation, using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Work closely with the Legal Talent and HR teams while performing financial analyses and day-to-day operations
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned

- 2+ years of compensation or other applicable data analysis experience
