Summary
Bray International is a global leader in industrial valves and control products. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing a designated territory, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals through technical support and relationship building.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage sales objectives, goals, and forecasts for the designated territory
- Conduct regular field visits throughout the assigned region to engage with customers, understand their needs, and drive sales
- Collaborate with customer technical teams to specify and apply industrial equipment, while offering ongoing product education and technical support
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty while also identifying new business opportunities
- Act as a point of contact for resolving customer disputes, working closely with office staff and factory personnel to address and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Regularly report on sales activity, market trends, customer feedback, and progress toward meeting or exceeding sales goals
Skills
- A minimum of 2 – 5 years of successful experience in an engineering or technical role within an industrial setting, preferably in valves, flow control products, or related industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, clarify customer needs, and provide clear explanations
- Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to build, manage, and nurture long-term customer relationships
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, set personal goals, and take the initiative to achieve results
- Ability to understand and explain the application of industrial equipment in customer processes, identifying and addressing customer needs
- Proactive in identifying solutions and resolving customer challenges effectively and efficiently
- Willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory to meet with customers and support sales efforts
- Valid driver's license required; personal vehicle available for sales and service calls
- Credit check, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and Non-DOT Physical required as part of the background screening process
- Must adhere to Bray's Drivers Policy, including maintaining adequate auto liability insurance and following company safety practices
- A BS degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred
- Alternatively, equivalent sales experience is acceptable
