Summary
Centene Corporation is a healthcare organization focused on connecting people to the care they need to live healthier lives. The Medical Economics Analyst Intern will support managed care projects by analyzing healthcare vendor performance, costs, savings, and return on investment, while extracting and cleaning claims data and developing Excel and Power BI analyses. The intern will also create stakeholder presentations, research industry topics, and participate in training and professional development activities.
Responsibilities
- Learn about various processes and functions within the Managed Care industry and develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business
- Support healthcare vendor performance, cost, savings, and return-on-investment analyses
- Extract claims and member data using SQL and clean large datasets for analysis
- Analyze data in Excel and build or maintain Power BI dashboards
- Create visualizations, presentations, and summaries that explain findings to business stakeholders
- Learn various job functions within the Managed Care industry and explore various career opportunities
- Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects
- Research various legal, regulatory, and other topics within functional area and industry
- Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
