Summary
Dunhill Professional Search & Government Solutions is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to support a federal civilian program through technical research, documentation development, and knowledge management. The role analyzes requirements, compiles and edits technical content, creates clear user documentation, and gathers usability feedback while working remotely with distributed teams and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams and subject matter experts to build an in-depth understanding of the content, product and documentation requirements
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
- Study drawings, announcements, specifications, mockups, test sites and product samples, and meet with product designers and developers
- Use graphics such as photographs, drawings and diagrams to increase end users' understanding of the system
- Translate development requirements into required documentation changes, adhering to CMMI Level 3 process requirements
- Proof documentation to detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, syntax and established styles and standards
- Analyze project requirements to determine scope of work and required documentation products, and apply overarching policy requirements so every product complies
- Determine the needs of end users and produce technical documentation that is clear, concise and comprehensible
- Gather usability feedback from customers, designers and manufacturers
Skills
- Associate's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 1-2 years of experience in technical writing, documentation or knowledge management
- Excellent command of English grammar, style and editing
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Experience with desktop publishing tools from Adobe and Microsoft
- Ability to translate technical and functional requirements into clear, audience-appropriate documentation
- US Citizenship
