Summary
Emergent Method is a management consulting firm focused on developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives with transformative impact. The Grant and Program Management Consultant will support clients through recurring grant management, tracking, reporting, compliance, budget monitoring, and follow-up activities for federally and publicly funded programs involving subrecipients and workforce initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for recurring grant management, tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities, managing assigned work through completion with limited oversight
- Track grant and program reporting requirements and deadlines, and support the preparation and timely submission of quarterly and other periodic reports
- Draft, compile, and review project and workforce program reports that are accurate, complete, and aligned with funder requirements
- Track project and workforce milestones, outcomes, metrics, risks, and performance measures, and report on progress against goals
- Monitor subrecipient budgets and spending, and review invoices to make sure they are accurate and complete
- Monitor subrecipient reporting and documentation, and coordinate with subrecipients to collect the information needed to meet reporting and compliance requirements
- Develop, build, and maintain grant and project management trackers, tools, and systems that bring structure and consistency to recurring work
- Proactively identify and escalate reporting, financial, compliance, or performance issues, and recommend solutions to keep programs on track
- Communicate clearly and proactively with clients, subrecipients, and internal team members, sharing relevant program information and updates, documenting progress, and following up until items are resolved
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, proactively share information, and keep team members informed of program progress, issues, and needs
- Think critically and demonstrate true problem-solving skills with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and complete tasks and projects with minimal oversight

- Highly organized grant, program, or project management professional
- Must demonstrate strong experience in grant and project management, and a solid understanding of federal grants and budgets
- Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented; capable of building and maintaining effective tracking systems; comfortable working with budgets and financial information; and able to independently manage recurring workstreams with limited oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, proactively share information, and keep team members informed of program progress, issues, and needs
- Think critically and demonstrate true problem-solving skills with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and complete tasks and projects with minimal oversight
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field
- Two to three years of experience in grant management, program or project management, financial analysis, or related experience that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Strong understanding of how budgets and funds flow through a program, including budget tracking, expenditures, invoicing, and reimbursement
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and building trackers and reports from scratch
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain systems, processes, and tools that organize complex information and recurring work
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, organized approach, with a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear reports and follow up with stakeholders to obtain needed information
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and take ownership of timelines and work product
- Ability to multitask, shift from project to project, and balance competing priorities
- Strong willingness to learn new skills and adopt new methodologies; open-minded and accepting of feedback
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience supporting federally or state-funded programs, including grant administration, subrecipient monitoring, financial tracking, reporting, compliance, or workforce development, is strongly preferred
