The Embedded Software Engineer will identify software requirements and support the design, development, validation, and verification of embedded software for the company's products, ensuring compatibility and quality across systems.
Responsibilities
- Develops products per software design procedures
- Designs, simulates, codes, and debug applications in C languages
- Develops software to be implemented in internal and customer product lines
- Tests and maintains software implemented in company product lines
- Perform root cause analysis and provide solution to issues with existing products
- Writes and tests protocols and design verification testing for company product lines
- Provides technical support to customers
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned
- Willing to learn other software technologies like Mobile App, IOT Cloud, Windows application
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Electrical, Computer engineering or a related field (required)
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field (required)
- Proficient in embedded software development using C/C++ for ARM-based microcontrollers
- Experience working with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi
- Experience interfacing with hardware peripherals such as LCD displays, Flash memory, RTC, and other embedded components
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts
- Ability to use equipment like Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies, Multimeters etc
- Ability to work safely with embedded systems that may involve high voltages
- Master's Degree in relevant field could substitute for years of experience
- Exposure to RTOS-based embedded systems (e.g., FreeRTOS or similar) is a plus
- Exposure to embedded bootloader development is a plus
- Understanding of IoT system architecture and connected device design is desirable
- Familiarity with Internet networking protocols such as HTTP, MQTT, or socket-based communication is a plus
- Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus or BACnet is a plus
- Basic knowledge of encryption and secure communication protocols is a plus
Qualifications
Must Haves
