Job description

Summary

Goldberg, Miller & Rubin is a regional civil law firm focused on litigating cases involving automotive and trucking negligence, medical malpractice, toxic torts, work-related accidents, and general liability. The Legal Assistant will support multiple attorneys by preparing and filing legal documents, maintaining case records, coordinating communications and schedules, and tracking deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to two or more lawyers
  • Effectively communicate with witnesses, clients, colleagues, and partners
  • Prepare and/or proofread legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, opinions, complaints, administrative decisions, orders, etc
  • Maintain an accurate case record system including keeping contacts and case material up to date
  • File legal documents with various local courts
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders
  • Schedule depositions, client meetings, and maintain all attorney calendars

Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in the legal field
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and Zoom
  • Outstanding time-management and typing skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized
  • Experience in insurance defense
  • Working knowledge of litigation management software systems
  • Ability to communicate in a secondary language

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in the legal field

  • Outstanding time-management and typing skills
