Accounts Receivable Rep (Customer Financial Service Center)

Summary

Emplify Health is a patient-centered healthcare network formed through a partnership between Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System. The Accounts Receivable Representative will audit guarantor accounts, resolve billing issues, manage patient calls, process payments, and help patients understand financial responsibilities, insurance questions, and assistance programs.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer issues and answer patient inquiries regarding accounts, charges, and procedures through effective communication and one-call resolution guidelines
• Educate patients on their financial responsibilities, including payment arrangements, insurance processing, and self-pay balances
• Document all actions taken on patient accounts within the billing system and review accounts for discrepancies
• Verify demographic and insurance information while ensuring compliance with patient privacy laws, including HIPAA
• Offer financial assistance program information and provide recommendations for improvement based on observed trends and issues

Skills

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 1 year work experience, preferably working in a medical facility, insurance company or office setting
• Great communication, customer service, and computer skills
• Background in healthcare is a plus!
