Summary
Honeywell Aerospace is an aerospace and defense company developing aviation systems and technologies. The Systems Engineer II will design, develop, model, analyze, and integrate Environmental Control Systems for aircraft while ensuring system performance, reliability, validation, verification, and compliance with requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for air and vapor cycle systems, including validation and verification of system level steady state requirements
- Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize system performance
- Definition of system and equipment level key performance and generation/ validation of associated requirements
- Creation and maintenance of system level steady state models including run time performance optimization, model validation against component and system test data, and generation of model documentation
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware and software components effectively
- Perform system validation, verification, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields, with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis
- Advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical field with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis, in lieu of experience
- Candidate must be a U.S Person, which is defined as, a U.S. Citizen, a U.S Permanent resident or have protected status in the U.S under asylum or refugee status
- Experience in thermal management system design and development
- Experience in systems modeling tools and software such as NPSS, SysML, MATLAB, or similar platforms for system analysis and design
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
