H&R Block is a tax services company seeking a Claims Tax Analyst to research, analyze, and resolve highly complex tax situations. The role involves interpreting tax laws and regulations, communicating findings clearly, and addressing federal, state, and various specialized taxation matters.
Responsibilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and correctly formulate solutions to highly complex tax situations
- Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions
- Demonstrated ability to effectively research complex tax issues and effectively communicate findings
- Knowledge of tax research principles, procedures, and techniques
- 3 years minimum related work experience
- Operational knowledge of tax law and regulations sufficient to understand and explain elements of personal (Federal and State), corporate, partnership, fiduciary, estate, gift, and international taxation
- Oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Writing skills to explain complex tax information in a clear manner and in plain language
- Enrolled Agent, Certified Public Accountant or Attorney status (credentials regulated under Circular 230)
- Knowledge of Federal and State tax administration to include litigation, tax compliance, and auditing
