Job description

Summary

MasTec Renewables, including IEA Constructors, provides renewable energy construction services across solar, wind, and battery storage projects. The Geomatics Engineer I, II, or III performs geospatial data collection, analysis, and presentation for renewable energy developments, including surveying, mapping, modeling, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographic, boundary, and environmental surveys for sites involved in green energy and sustainable development using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments
  • Process and analyze geospatial data to produce maps, models, and reports that assist in the planning and design of these sites
  • Assist in the development of 3D models and simulations to optimize site layouts and assess environmental impacts
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and land use laws relevant to sustainable projects
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate geospatial data into planning, construction, and operational phases
  • Participate in client meetings to provide geospatial insights relevant to site selection, design, and environmental assessments
  • Continue to develop technical skills through ongoing training, focusing on geospatial applications in sustainable infrastructure projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • * Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • * One to three years of experience in geomatics or a related field
  • * Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • * Three to five years of experience in geomatics or a related field
  • * Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • * Five+ years of experience in geomatics or a related field
  • * Previous experiencing managing large projects
  • * Proficiency in GIS software, surveying instruments, and data processing tools
  • * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • * Attention to detail and good communication skills
  • * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • * Interest in the development of sustainable infrastructure projects
  • * This position is open to being remote with up to 25% travel throughout the US
  • * Master's degree preferred
  • * Master's degree or professional certification (i.e. Professional Surveyor) preferred
